Camarillo uses OpenGov for many permits and licenses

Camarillo's OpenGov customer portal lets residents and businesses apply for permits and licenses, make payments, track status, and request inspections online.

Camarillo has moved a lot of permit and license work into OpenGov. That portal is useful when you need to apply, pay an invoice, track status, or request an inspection without guessing which office counter to visit first.

For home and building work, Building and Safety handles permitting, inspection, and plan check. For businesses, Camarillo requires a business tax certificate before conducting business, including businesses based outside the city that work in Camarillo.

Those two paths can meet when a business is opening in a space that needs tenant improvements, signs, equipment, or a change in use. In that case, keep the business tax and building permit records organized together.

Before opening a portal record, gather the address, owner or business name, contact information, project description, plans if needed, and whether you are asking for a permit, a license, an inspection, or a payment record.
