Carlsbad uses Genasys and AlertSanDiego side by side
Genasys Protect carries Carlsbad zone and evacuation status, while AlertSanDiego remains the countywide contact system for regional emergency notifications.
Carlsbad and San Diego County use two systems side by side. Genasys Protect is the evacuation tool. Search a Carlsbad address to learn the zone, subscribe for evacuation alerts, and track the live status of a neighborhood. You can also monitor a zone near work or family.
AlertSanDiego remains the official countywide notification system and the primary contact database for regional emergencies. Register so critical messages can reach the landline, cell phone, email, or text path you use.
One system does not replace the other. Genasys gives more precise zone and evacuation information; AlertSanDiego supplies the broader county contact path. City website and social updates are additional sources during a Carlsbad incident.
Save both, then choose two possible routes and a meeting place. When a live evacuation notice arrives, follow its current zone status and responder directions rather than assuming the everyday route will be open.
