Carson building projects now start with Civic Access

Carson Building and Safety uses the Civic Access portal for plan check applications, permits, inspection scheduling, and SolarAPP+ permit steps.

A Carson home or business permit goes smoother when the job is named before the portal opens. A patio cover, tenant improvement, solar project, repair, and a larger remodel can all sound like “building work.” They may still move through different steps.

Civic Access is the main online portal for Building and Safety. Home, business, and specialty projects can move through applications, plan review, permits, and inspections there. Solar work may start with SolarAPP+ before it lands in the city permit step.

The project label matters because Carson has a lot packed close together. Homes, warehouses, schools, job centers, and busy streets can sit near each other. For solar and storage work, a Los Angeles County Fire Department final inspection may also be part of the path before the system is used.

Before going online, gather the address, a short work description, any drawings, and the right contact email. Civic Access can save time, but only if the first question is clear enough to sort.
