Metro Micro gives Compton another short-trip option

Metro Micro is a shared ride for short trips inside the Watts/Compton service zone. It can connect a home area, school, store, appointment, bus stop, or rail station when a regular route is not a good fit. It cannot take a rider outside the zone.

Service runs from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends. Book in the Metro Micro app, on the web, or at 323-GO-METRO. A ride can be requested right away or up to seven days ahead.

The regular fare is $2.50. Eligible riders with a reduced-fare TAP card pay $1, and a child under 6 rides free with a paying caregiver. Drivers do not take cash. A TAP payment includes a free transfer to Metro bus or rail. A transfer from Metro bus or rail to Micro costs 75 cents when made within two hours.

Pickup is at a designated corner or nearby landmark, not always at the door. The booking gives the exact spot. Arrive five minutes early because the driver waits only 20 seconds. Select a ramp-equipped vehicle while booking if one is needed, then confirm the pickup point before leaving.
