Corona has a city alert system and county alert layers
Corona's CivicReady system handles city notifications, while Alert RivCo and Genasys add county warnings and address-based evacuation information.
Corona has its own CivicReady Emergency Notification System. Traditional landlines in the 911 database are included, but cell phones, internet phones, email addresses, and text contacts must be registered. City-generated calls show 951-406-4578 with the caller ID CoronaAlert.
Riverside County adds two more layers. Alert RivCo sends county emergency warnings, and Genasys Protect provides another alert path and address-based evacuation information. The county recommends using both, and it specifically lists Corona as a city with its own system. Registering for the city system does not replace the county tools.
Set up the addresses and contact methods you use, then save the official pages. During an incident, follow the current city or county message and zone status. The Fire Department’s preparedness material is useful before an emergency, but it is not a live road or evacuation map.
One detail worth checking after a phone change or move: update both the Corona and county registrations. A correct address is what lets a targeted warning reach the right household.
