An earthquake fault zone can become a permit question

CGS says local agencies regulate development projects inside Alquist-Priolo earthquake fault zones.

earthquakefault zonepermits

Some California property sits inside an Alquist-Priolo earthquake fault zone. That map label can matter. It can change what the permit office asks for.

CGS says cities and counties regulate building projects in these zones. They may ask for a geologic report before they issue a permit. If you plan to buy, build, split land, or do a big project, call the local planning office early.
