Lodi utility starts need ID and proof of the address
Lodi utility service starts with the city’s start-service application. For new residential service, gather a completed application, picture ID, and either a signed rental agreement or proof that you own the home.
If you are moving out, use the stop-service application. Service stops on the requested date when that date falls on a business day; a non-business-day request moves to the next available day. Stop requests are not backdated after the move-out date, so do not leave that step until later.
Before you apply, write down the service address, move-in or move-out date, and the name that should be on the account. If you are moving within Lodi, keep both addresses in front of you.
Lodi also has city electric service, so a utility account can touch more than just water or trash. The right paperwork keeps the move from getting tangled at the counter.
