Long Beach trash questions have a request navigator
Long Beach trash questions go faster when the request matches the problem. The Refuse Collection 101 page has a Service Request Navigator that separates special pickup requests, dumped items, cart exchanges, replacement carts, and missed pickups.
That split matters because a missed pickup is handled differently than a couch left in an alley or a cart that needs to be changed. If the pickup was missed, the page routes people to report it after 6:00 p.m. on the collection day. If the issue is a special collection or dumped item, use that form instead.
Before sending a request, have the service address, nearby cross street, cart type, and a clear photo if one would help. Long Beach has dense blocks, alleys, beach traffic, and many collection routes, so a precise location can save a lot of back-and-forth.
