Rancho Cordova Online keeps permits and licenses together
Rancho Cordova Online handles city licenses and building permits, but planning review may need to come before a business opens or a site changes.
Rancho Cordova Online is used for city business licenses and all building permits. You can apply, pay, print a permit, upload plans, check status, and book an inspection there. Do not email a new building permit package. The city no longer takes it that way.
Make an account or sign in first. For a renewal, use the email that is already tied to the license. Card payments have a 2.5% fee, both online and in person. Have the site address, contact name, short work note, plans, and builder details ready.
The portal does not replace a Planning check. Ask Planning before you open a business, change a building, add a sign, or alter the site. The job may need a zoning letter, design review, or use permit. A short-term outdoor event, use, or sign may need a Temporary Use Permit.
City meeting rooms have one extra step. Call 916-851-8700 to check the date and pick a room before you file. For help with a building permit, call 916-851-8760 or email [email protected].
