Redondo Beach bulky pickup needs a little lead time
Redondo Beach residents can schedule bulky-item and e-waste pickup through Athens Services, but the request needs to be made before collection day.
Redondo Beach has tight streets in spots, beach traffic on busy days, and alleys or curb edges where a couch can become a problem fast. Bulky pickup is the easier route when something is too large for the regular cart.
Athens Services provides bulky-item and electronics pickup for single-family and multi-family residents. The pickup is free, but it needs to be scheduled. Redondo Beach gives two ways to do that: submit the online bulky-item request or call Athens Services at least two days before the regular collection day.
The limit is four bulky or electronic items per week. Plan around that before cleaning out a garage, moving from an apartment, or replacing several pieces of furniture at once. If the pile is bigger than the weekly limit, split the work into more than one pickup instead of putting everything out and hoping it disappears.
Place the items where the hauler expects them: at the curb for curbside service or next to the trash dumpster for many multi-family setups. Keep the regular trash, recycling, and organics carts usable. A bulky pickup should not block the sidewalk, a driveway, or an alley path.
For electronics, do not toss them into the regular trash cart first. Use the bulky or e-waste pickup path. It keeps the item on the right service track and helps avoid a messy surprise on collection morning.
