Salinas utility service starts with the address
Water service depends on the Salinas address. Alco and Cal Water serve different areas, PG&E handles electricity, and Republic Services handles required residential waste service.
Start with the address and the service. Salinas does not run one water account for every home. Alco Water serves eastern Salinas, and Cal Water also serves city addresses. PG&E handles power. Republic Services handles the required home trash service.
For Alco water, call 831-424-0441. Alco does not post an online start-or-stop list. A Cal Water customer in a house can most often start or stop online. The person must be at least 18, and an adult must be home when the water is turned on. A business, apartment building, or move between homes needs the Salinas Cal Water office.
Most PG&E home requests can be set online, sometimes for the same day or up to 60 days ahead. Have the address, a clear path to the meter, date, and ID facts ready. A new build, some credit issues, and most solar homes need a phone call.
Republic picks up trash, recycling, and food and yard waste each week. Call 831-775-3840 for a home account or pickup question. Apartment residents should ask the manager before they expect their own carts or the house deal for large items, since the building may hold the shared-bin account.
