Santa Rosa water billing and field problems use different numbers
Water Billing opens and closes city water or sewer accounts with one business day's notice. Leaks, sewer maintenance, and after-hours emergencies use different service lines.
To start or stop city water or sewer, call Water Billing at 707-543-3150 or visit 90 Santa Rosa Avenue. Give one workday’s notice. The city does not list an online start-or-stop form.
The online account site is for service that is already open. Sign-up needs the seven-digit customer number and six-digit account number on a bill; it does not open new service. The city does not post an ID or deposit list. Keep the address, date, name, phone, and email ready. Ask Water Billing what else it needs.
Do not assume every address gets both services. Santa Rosa has water-only accounts, and an apartment may use one account for the whole building. Check the lease or ask the manager before you try to open your own.
For a bill or start-stop service, use 707-543-3150. For a street leak, sewer work, or a new pipe question, use 707-543-4200. After-hours water or sewer trouble uses 707-543-3805. A water start or restore after hours now adds a $136 fee, so send a normal request at least one workday ahead.
