Solano County property tax questions split between record and bill
Solano County property tax questions usually start with the Assessor-Recorder for value and records, or the Tax Collector for bills and collections.
Solano County property tax questions usually split in two: the property record or the bill.
The Assessor-Recorder is the better start for assessed value, parcel details, owner records, maps, exemptions, and the assessment itself.
The Tax Collector is the better start for billing and collection. Use that side for secured bills. Use it for extra bills after a change, payment questions, and online bill lookup.
This split helps from Vallejo and Benicia to Fairfield, Vacaville, Dixon, and the Delta edge. A new owner may touch both sides. So might a landlord, farm parcel owner, or family helper.
Start with the paper or screen in front of you. If it is about value or the parcel record, use the Assessor-Recorder. If it is about paying, finding, or tracking a bill, use the Tax Collector.
