Columbia keeps Tuolumne County's Gold Rush layer visible
Columbia is one of the easiest Gold Rush places to picture because the old town setting is still the main attraction. Columbia State Historic Park keeps brick buildings, wooden sidewalks, exhibits, living-history programs, shops, and event days in a walkable Sierra foothill setting.
That makes it different from a plaque or quick overlook. You can slow down, see how a mining-era town was laid out, and let the streets do some of the teaching.
Use State Parks for hours, event dates, tours, and facility details. The park is a strong Tuolumne County anchor, but it is still only one chapter of the county’s bigger story.
