Yuba City flood questions start with the address map
A Yuba City flood question can involve a FEMA zone, a local elevation map, an evacuation zone, or the agency that maintains a levee. Each uses a different official tool.
Start with the address, not the neighborhood name. Use FEMA’s Map Service Center to search the address and print a current FIRMette. Sutter County has a parcel lookup too. It also has local base-flood-elevation maps.
These tools answer different questions. A FEMA map shows the federal flood zone for the site. County maps can add local flood and elevation details. Keep the address and assessor’s parcel number handy. Use both to match the same land in each tool.
Evacuation planning is a separate job. Yuba City’s all-hazard map divides the city into 35 sub-zones. A live notice may be an evacuation warning, an evacuation order, or a shelter-in-place notice. The relocation centers shown on the map are not standing evacuation shelters, so follow the location named in the current notice.
Levee maintenance uses another map. The state, a levee district, or a reclamation district may care for a given reach. Check the county’s agency page before you report a concern or ask for a record.
Where to see it
