Irvine utilities are split across several providers

Irvineutilitieswater servicetrash service

Irvine can feel very orderly from the street. Home utilities are still split among several providers. Water and sewer questions usually go to Irvine Ranch Water District, or IRWD. Trash and recycling go to Waste Management for many homes. Some village business areas use it too.

Electric service has two parts. Southern California Edison handles delivery, billing, and power-line work. Orange County Power Authority is listed for electric generation. Gas service goes through SoCalGas.

That mix can be confusing during a move. It can also slow down an outage question. The same goes for a missed pickup, bill problem, or auto-pay setup. The city’s utility list gives the main map. IRWD’s customer care page covers water accounts, bills, rates, leaks, sewer service, and alerts.
