Lakeport keeps its downtown turned toward Clear Lake

Lakeport's parks and lakefront gathering spaces show why the city works as a small county-seat town with a strong Clear Lake rhythm.

Lakeport is the kind of town where the lakefront is not hidden behind a back fence. The city keeps public life close to Clear Lake, especially around Library Park and the newer Xabatin Community Park area.

The shoreline makes the town easier to understand. Lakeport is a county seat, but it is also a lake town. Boating, bass fishing, wakeboarding, swimming, sailing, kayaking, festivals, and gathering spaces all show up in its park life. Those are not side details. They are a big part of how the place feels.

Library Park is the old familiar anchor. Xabatin adds newer public space with a lakefront promenade, amphitheater, splash pad, public art, picnic areas, and open lawn. Together, they make downtown feel more connected to the water.

A smart lake day still starts with current conditions, but Lakeport’s public lakefront also shows why people keep building town life around this shore.
