Point Reyes lets Marin County feel far away without leaving the coast

Point Reyes National Seashore has visitor centers, beaches, lighthouse views, trails, tule elk viewing, whale watching, and wide coastal drives.

Marin CountyPoint Reyesnational seashore

Point Reyes is the Marin coast when the trip starts to feel bigger than the map. Roads, beaches, headlands, wildlife viewing, visitor centers, and long views spread out across the seashore.

The park works best when you pick one part of it first. Bear Valley is a helpful first stop. The lighthouse area is a longer drive. Tomales Point is known for tule elk viewing. Other days may be about beaches, whale watching, a short hike, or just getting a map and asking a ranger.

That space is part of the charm. It also means you should not assume every stop is close to the next one.

Review conditions, visitor center hours, pet rules, and any beach or trail notices before visiting. Point Reyes rewards a simple plan.
