Redondo Beach Pier and King Harbor are two pieces of the same coast

Redondo Beach's pier, King Harbor, and county beach access overlap, so it helps to know which agency page answers which kind of coastal question.

Redondo BeachKing Harborpier

Redondo Beach is easier to understand if you separate the waterfront pieces. The city pier and King Harbor area are one piece. The county beach information is another.

The city waterfront area covers land and water around the pier and harbor, with boating, fishing, shopping, biking, skating, and coastal walking nearby. LA County handles beach information for the sand and shoreline stretch that runs about 1.5 miles from the pier toward Torrance Beach.

That split is not a problem. It just means the right page depends on the question. For pier, harbor, or waterfront business details, start with the city. For beach amenities, showers, volleyball nets, beach wheelchairs, bike path access, and county parking details, check the county beach page. For water quality or construction, refresh ahead of time.
