San Diego emergency alerts use the regional AlertSanDiego system

San Diegoemergency alertsAlertSanDiego

San Diego uses regional emergency alert tools, so the city’s Stay Informed page is the cleaner first stop than hunting for a separate neighborhood list. The page routes residents to Genasys Protect for danger and evacuation notifications and to AlertSanDiego for safety information by phone.

San Diego’s risks can be very local. A canyon, beach bluff, storm drain, wildfire edge, or coastal road may have a different issue than another part of the city on the same day.

Sign up before you need it, then add places you care about if the system allows. Think about home, work, school, older relatives, and regular beach or canyon stops. Keep emergency alerts separate from regular city service requests like potholes or graffiti. During a real incident, follow the current official alert, evacuation map, or public safety direction for the exact area.
