California note
Most San Luis Obispo building work uses InfoSLO
InfoSLO handles ordinary building applications, permits, invoices, records, and inspections. Fire and demolition inspections still use a phone call.
InfoSLO is the usual online door for city building work. Use it to apply, view a permit, pay a bill, search public records, and book a normal building inspection. Save the permit number, project address, and account email. You will need them again.
After you pay online, send an email. Use [email protected] for a building permit. Use [email protected] for a planning permit. This tells the right team that the payment is ready. Save that email with the job records.
Fire and demolition checks are not booked in InfoSLO. Call Building and Safety at 805-781-7180 at least 24 hours ahead. Describe the inspection you need so staff can confirm the right booking path.
Keep the needed check and phone number on the job calendar. Do not assume every check will appear in the portal.
