Santee emergency alerts use AlertSanDiego and Genasys
Santee residents can register addresses with AlertSanDiego and use Genasys Protect for evacuation zones, status changes, and mapped road information.
Santee points residents to two county tools that work together. AlertSanDiego sends emergency calls, texts, or emails to registered cell, internet-phone, and email contacts. Listed and unlisted landlines are already drawn from the local 911 database, but mobile and VoIP contacts need registration.
Genasys Protect is the map-and-zone layer. Use it to find saved locations, watch an evacuation zone change from normal to warning or order, and check mapped road information. Registering for AlertSanDiego does not replace knowing the Genasys zone, and opening the map does not replace registering a phone.
Set up home, work, school, a relative’s house, or another place you regularly help. Wireless Emergency Alerts may also reach compatible phones in a target area without signup, including visitors, but no single channel should be your only plan.
When a message arrives, follow the action and zone in the current official notice. A warning is the time to prepare or leave early if you need more time; an order means leave now.
