Upland trash questions usually start with Burrtec or Public Works

Upland trash, recycling, food waste, holiday delays, service requests, and household hazardous waste questions split between Burrtec and the city Public Works Department.

Uplandtrash servicefood waste

Upland trash service has two useful doors. Burrtec handles the day-to-day collection service. Public Works is the city contact when the question is about the local program.

Use Burrtec for pickup issues or disposal service. Customer service is 909-949-0500. Major holiday weeks can delay collection by one day from the holiday through Saturday.

Food waste has its own local rules because of California’s organics law. Upland explains that food scraps should be bagged and placed in the green waste barrel. It gives examples such as fruits, vegetables, cooked meat, dairy, eggshells, bread, and food-soiled paper.

Household hazardous waste is a different lane. The city’s HHW Collection Center is at the City Yard on many Saturdays, with weather and capacity limits.

Before calling, name the chore: missed pickup, cart question, food waste sorting, holiday delay, or hazardous waste. That makes the first call easier.
