Ventura County zoning starts with unincorporated parcels
Ventura County Planning says its zoning tool is for parcels in unincorporated Ventura County.
Ventura County’s What’s My Zoning tool is for county land outside a city. It asks for a 9- or 10-digit Assessor Parcel Number, called an APN. The result gives the county zone for that parcel.
If you do not know the APN, use the county’s address search. If the form does not load, use the county map. Search the APN, open the Layers tab, and turn on the Zone Designation layer. If the property is inside a city, use that city’s planning office instead.
The zone name is only a first step. The General Plan, an area plan, and other county rules may also apply. Write down the APN and zone, then tell County Planning what you hope to build or change. Ask which plan, use table, and permit path control the work. A map result does not grant a permit.
