Clovis's preparedness page is mainly a CERT door

Clovis's fire-department preparedness page explains Community Emergency Response Team training for the period before professional help can reach everyone.

ClovisCERTemergency preparedness

Clovis’s Emergency Preparedness page is mainly about the Clovis Emergency Response Team, or CERT. It is not the city’s live alert page and it does not provide current fire, smoke, heat, or outage status.

CERT trains residents to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors after a major disaster, when professional responders may not reach everyone at once. Possible training or volunteer roles include basic fire suppression, utility shutoff, light search and rescue, basic medical help, shelter support, crowd control, and evacuation support.

That makes the page useful for someone who wants skills and a volunteer path. It should not be the only page saved for an active emergency. During a live event, follow current messages from the city, fire department, law enforcement, or county alert system.

For ordinary preparation, keep supplies and medicine easy to reach, choose a meeting place, and decide who checks on anyone who may need help. CERT is the next step for a resident who wants hands-on training beyond that household plan.
