Garden Grove permit applications use the Development Access path
Garden Grove permit work often begins online through the Development Access system. That page sends new applications for commercial, residential, engineering, and other permits into the city’s GGReady customer portal.
For a homeowner, this is the cleaner first stop before calling around. The permit pages also connect to permit records, inspection scheduling, permit refunds, permit extensions, fee information, and FAQs about when permits are needed. If the work is a water heater, reroof, HVAC change-out, sewer lateral repair, electrical service upgrade, patio, wall, or ADU-type project, the project name matters because the portal choices are grouped by permit type.
Before starting, gather the property address, owner information, contractor license details if a contractor is involved, project description, and any plans or photos. Garden Grove is built out and dense in many places, so small exterior, garage, fence, and utility changes can still need the right building or planning review.
