Moreno Valley electric service depends on the address

MVU serves only part of Moreno Valley; Southern California Edison serves the rest. Inside the incorporated city, WM separately handles mandatory waste service.

Check the power map before opening an account. Moreno Valley Utility, or MVU, serves only part of the city. Southern California Edison serves other homes. A Moreno Valley mailing address does not settle the answer.

To start MVU service, call 844-425-0855. The line is open all day and night. MVU asks for a Social Security number or business EIN, birth date, driver’s-license number, old addresses, and job facts. A credit check decides if you need a deposit. The amount is about twice the home’s average monthly power bill. MVU may waive it if you had good payment history with MVU in the past 12 months.

The person named on the account can stop service by phone or through MyMVU. In the account site, choose Service Turn On/Off and then Move Out. Have the service address and ID facts ready.

Trash is separate. Inside the city limits, WM is the only hauler and each home must have service. Enter the address on WM’s page to open or manage the account. Home service uses trash, recycling, and food-and-yard-waste carts. Put them out by 6 a.m. with the lids shut. Apartment residents should ask the manager first. The building may control the shared bins.
