Oceanside utility service has a city side and a trash side
Oceanside utility service has two pieces that are easy to mix up. The city handles water and wastewater billing. Waste Management handles landfill, recycling, and organics service.
For water or wastewater, send the request before the day you want service to change. Oceanside asks for lead time on new service. Same-day water turn-on can depend on when the request comes in.
For trash, recycling, and organics, use the Waste Management contact on Oceanside’s utility page. That is the better place to set up or end those services.
Have the service address, move date, account number if you have one, and a phone or email ready. If the water is off when you move in, call earlier in the day so there is more room to fix it.
