Visalia permits can use the counter, drop box, or online drop
Visalia gives people several ways to submit a permit or building plans. The Permit Counter page allows in-person submittal at City Hall East, use of the drop box, or online document submittal through the Online File Drop.
That is helpful when a project is too detailed for a quick phone question. A home remodel, tenant improvement, solar job, parking permit question, or encroachment permit may need forms, plans, payment, or supporting documents. The city also has a Citizen Portal for researching permits, and licensed contractors may use it for inspection scheduling.
Before submitting, gather the project address, owner information, contractor license if one is involved, plans, permit forms, and payment details. If you are only checking a property’s permit history, use the research portal first. Visalia’s older neighborhoods, commercial corridors, and fast-growing edges can all have different review needs.

California Porch explains the path. The official source is still the place to confirm the current rule, fee, form, map, deadline, or office decision.
Use the official page before you spend money, file paperwork, rely on a deadline, or change a property.
