Hemet alerts and fire-zone pages belong in the same folder
Hemet's website alert is one local information layer; Alert RivCo and Genasys add county warnings and zones, while the city's current fire-map page still labels its linked maps as proposed.
Hemet’s city website has an Emergency Alert light, current road or emergency posts, and an e-notification signup. That email feature is useful, but it is only one way to stay informed and is not the whole warning system.
Riverside County uses Alert RivCo to send emergency warnings and Genasys Protect for another alert path and address-based evacuation zones. Traditional landlines are entered automatically in Alert RivCo; cell and internet-phone numbers must be registered. Sign up for the county tools as well as Hemet’s city updates.
The fire-zone page needs a careful read. Its heading refers to 2025 adoption, but the current text calls the linked maps proposed and says the city cannot alter the CAL FIRE and State Fire Marshal designations. Do not use that page alone as proof that a final local map or a particular building, defensible-space, insurance, or disclosure rule applies to your parcel. Check the address against the current official map and confirm the adopted status with Hemet before a sale or project.
That leaves a simple split: city posts for city conditions, Alert RivCo for county warnings, Genasys for zones, and the current adopted map or city staff for property rules.
