Hemet building permits start with the online portal or City Hall

For work on a Hemet property, the permit source depends on the scope of work. Once the project is clear, the portal, email, or counter path makes more sense.
The Community Development Web Portal can be used to apply for a new permit, check plan review status, and handle other building steps. First-time portal access may need an email request to Building staff, so it is smart not to wait until the last minute.
For some permit issuance steps, Hemet also allows the application to be emailed, brought to City Hall, or handled through the portal by licensed contractors. Plan review pages give more direction for online project submittals.
In the San Jacinto Valley, older streets, newer housing, nearby mountains, and everyday home projects can all meet at the permit counter. Bring the address, the scope of work, and any drawings or contractor details. A clear project note helps the city sort the request.
